At the invitation of the Institute of Educational Researches of Azerbaijan Republic the ESSE Institute, represented by its director Marianne Meyer, Petra v. Kalinowski (deputy director) and Anita Friedrich (secretary), conducted a seminar entitled "Teachers' professional development: Education based on Universal Human Values" in Baku, Azerbaijan on July 1-4 2015. Conference language was English with translation into Russian and Azerbaijani (Azeri).

The seminar took place in the assembly hall of Azerbaijan University of Languages. The Director of the Institute, Mr. Gulu Novruzov, the Vice-chancellor of the University, Mr. Vazeh Asgerov, and the ESSE educational team addressed the audience at the opening ceremony stressing the importance of integrating human values into the teaching process.

Over 250 professional teachers and educators attended this seminar. For many participants it was a very enriching and mind opening experience.
